![]() A five member Board of Commissioners elected for three-year terms by the property owners governs the community. ![]() Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District #1 (HISID) is a public corporation organized Junder the Arkansas Suburban Improvement District Law to provide Holiday Island with a public road system, water works, sewer system, fire protection facilities, and recreational amenities. Currently, the population of Holiday Island is about 2,500. Bounded on the north by the Arkansas-Missouri state line, Holiday Island is a private community consisting of approximately 5,000 home sites, all with central water and sewer in place. Located in the Ozark Mountain Region of Northwest Arkansas, Holiday Island is a resort/retirement community spread over 4,500 acres of which about 800 acres is an "island" carved out along the south end of Table Rock Lake.
